It would have done, I’m sure! If memory serves me right we had but three buses from Northwood, Kirkby. The 544, the 44d and the 92b. Those were long journeys…

Worst zone of Liverpool centre by a mile. All the generational poverty of Scottie road and the north end cultural drinking scene , evicted from its knocked down pubs and condensed into sad little former shop caves, in a council approved drinking ghetto, piss stinking homeless haunting the streets outside. Some of these places make spoons look like a Michelin rated pub. Hasn’t the author got some poverty tourism in the 3rd would to glamourise?
